A designer terrace in a luxury home
There is nothing that motivates us more than to carry out a project practically from scratch. So we have been able to develop this project of integral reform of a house from which we highlight today the terrace design that we carried out.
a terrace born to be the best
We have been able to intervene in all the rooms of this luxury home, which has given us the opportunity to conceive the design of each of them as part of an overall contemporary design. Thanks to this, we have achieved functional spaces that relate to each other in a strategic but organic way, while keeping the same aesthetic coherence that gives personality to the whole house. This time we will focus on the terrace that we designed and built for the house.
Starting from a house with its own identity (contemporary aesthetics with materials such as iroko wood, white walls, smooth doors, polished concrete floor, with dark perimeter on the floor, etc.), the goal was to build a designer terrace with personality and that fit with the essence of the house.
Once we had the proposal defined and approved, we started with the work.

THE CUSTOMER'S VISION
The client wanted to have a design terrace that was not only beautiful and modern, but also practical and comfortable. He wanted a terrace to enjoy with family and friends where he could spend quality time with them and where to organize meetings and celebrations.

Pool designed in an inverted L-shape in order to not only achieve a better use of space, but also to be as integrated as possible with the rest of the areas.
from land with cypress trees to design terrace
The entire exterior where we had to intervene was a plot of land with perimeter cypress trees around the house. We had to adapt the space to carry out a design terrace project for a luxury home, composed of modern and contemporary elements, but above all that were practical and functional.
One of the first steps was to empty everything and leave the land ready to start building with noble materials: iron, wood, limestone, etc. always thinking that the final finish would have a natural and contemporary look at the same time.
This terrace could not miss essential areas and elements to achieve total comfort for visitors in any season of the year: an outdoor dining area, a seating area with sofas and side tables, a barbecue with a bar and a swimming pool. Perimeter planters and a closet at the entrance of the terrace were also included.

luxury outdoor dining and chill out
The first thing that can be appreciated is how spacious and comfortable is the dining room for eight diners that is located next to the pool and in front of the bar with the barbecue. The design of the furniture (in which stands out the table that we designed to measure) follows the aesthetics of the whole house: minimalist, but above all functional. And under the same aesthetic line follows the living area composed of sofas and outdoor tables (also custom designed), creating a very cozy and pleasant space.
barbecue and functional bar
Both the barbecue and the bar have been created with a very sophisticated porcelain tile that adds elegance to the contemporary and modern design of these, giving at the same time an organic look.
The peculiarity of the barbecue is that it has been integrated into the bar, which makes it very functional, as well as aesthetically very attractive and perfect for a modern and contemporary terrace.

PERGOLA FOR A DESIGN TERRACE
A terrace like this could not miss a design and custom-made pergola. It is a structure of iron beams, with an impressive cantilevered part without pillars of 3.5 meters, specially designed to fit in this space.
The design, creation and assembly of this pergola was a challenge due to its structural difficulty. At the beginning of the work, the placement tests were carried out and later the finishing touches were completed. It was not until the end of the work that we assembled it so that it would fit millimetrically in its place.

modern pool
One of the main elements is this modern swimming pool. We designed it in the shape of an inverted L with the aim of not only achieving a better use of space, but also to make it as integrated as possible with the rest of the areas, generating a coherent whole at a visual and experiential level.
We opted for a contemporary design that plays with different levels of depth, achieving a “beach area” effect through integrated steps that are submerged. Thanks to this area, this pool is much more than just a swimming pool. This area invites you to linger and provides a place for refreshing gatherings with family and friends.
We wanted a minimalist look that also respected the architecture of the house, so we chose natural materials such as limestone and modern finishes such as microcement pool coating.

planters for a modern terrace
As the house is very modern, with very straight lines, we needed to give it organic connotations. That is why we designed perimeter planters with oscillating lines and curves that invite the visitor to walk through them and stroll around. And all full of plants to counteract the rigidity and formality of the straight lines prevailing throughout the house.
lighting that any terrace design would envy.
Regarding the lighting, we were able to create a very special atmosphere with indirect lighting that we achieved thanks to the strategic creation of a hollow area between the pavement and the planters. In addition to having the function of drainage for when it rains, we installed a perimeter light that illuminates the terrace without the need for more light points.
In addition to this lighting, the masonry walls and the vegetation in the garden are illuminated. The wall is illuminated from below, highlighting the texture of the natural stone. And in the planters we placed oriented spotlights, adding textures to these plays of light and shadow.
In the pool, light also takes center stage. It is the only place where the lighting can change color. A whole lighting experience inside and outside the pool that allows us to enjoy chromotherapy creating unique atmospheres.

much more than a modern terrace
We managed to transform a plot of land into a designer terrace that breathes modernity and practicality in equal parts. But what we are most satisfied with is that we have designed and built a unique and very personal space where the client can spend quality time with family and friends; the perfect environment in which to live fantastic experiences that will become especially happy memories.
We love being part of an interior design and home renovation project like this one. It gives us the opportunity to apply all our experience in interior design and luxury interior design to create a home that is contemporary in design but above all comfortable to live in.
